PLY x Absolut Present: Mella Moylan

We’re very excited to unveil the first artist selected for the PLY x Absolut arts programme and shortlisted for the PLY x Absolut Emerging Talent Award.

Mella Moylan is a material designer who recently graduated from Textiles In Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University. She specialises in using the laser cutter to transform surfaces and create innovative materials that can be applied to interior environments and installation artwork.

The visual style of her most recent work is uncannily similar to that of the Absolut Mix bottle. Mella is working with two existing pieces, made from laser cut wood applied to fabric, to inject the colours that appear in the six-colour rainbow of the LGBT Pride flag as well as producing a new series of paper cut pieces to exhibit alongside them.

We’ll be launching Mella’s exhibition on Thursday 25th August from 6pm and as ever, Absolut will be supplying the complementary cocktails.
