Neil Carribine Doodle Wall Launch

On Thursday 22nd September we launch the new doodle wall by Sheffield based illustrator, animator and screen printer, .

Originally from Newcastle, Neil studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam, graduating in 2014.

His favourite colour is blue and he is interested in the ‘weird and quirky’ characters you come across in every day life. These characters are drawn and exaggerated in his sketchbook resulting in would could be considered bizarre figures – sometimes accompanied by text.

These images are then developed further through a mixture of illustration, animation, printing or sculpture into playful characters and patterns.

Neil’s work is colourful and vibrant and has most recently been seen in public at The Herd of Sheffield alongside Pete McKee, James Green, Jonathan Wilkinson and Lydia Monks among others. The 58 elephant sculptures, each uniquely decorated by artists have descended on Sheffield’s parks and open spaces, creating one of the biggest mass participation arts events the city has ever seen in support of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

We’re really excited to be welcoming Neil to PLY!

The launch starts at 6pm on 22nd September and there will be some complementary cocktails courtesy of PLY’s official arts partner, Absolut.

We look forward to see you there! x
